Partnership In Education

Partnership in Education, in collaboration with the Hamilton Avenue Elementary school, helps kindergarten and first grade children develop the reading and literacy skills they need to become successful students while encouraging a greater educational partnership with their families. The JLG provides reading volunteers in the school to read with the students and a cassette loaning library for use at home. We are pleased to contribute to their reading score improvement over the past few years.

The First and Second Graders at Hamilton Avenue School are enjoying weekly readings. Caps for Sale and Swimmy are among the favorite books.

We are planning our Family Evening Event for May 2012. Please stay "tuned" for event details. Last year's event featured "Acting Out" of Jack and The Beanstalk and The Tortoise and The Hare with Ms. Karen. Children received copies of these two books in advance along with the invitation to the event. Food was also served and enjoyed by between 200 and 250 attendees.
