Junior League of Greenwich Announces Packs for the Pack

Calling all dog lovers! Now through May 23rd, the Junior League of Greenwich is holding Packs for the Pack – a donation drive and fundraiser to support Adopt-A-Dog, a local animal shelter whose mission is to save, socialize and secure loving homes for unwanted or abandoned dogs.

There are two ways the community can support this initiative. First, people can donate new or gently used toys and unopened canned food. These items will help Adopt-A-Dog assist in the care of their dogs, and will be placed in a specially designated container located in front of the Junior League House.

Second, to raise additional funds and to showcase the wonderful dogs in our community, the JLG is holding a contest for a chance to win a $100 gift card to Pet Pantry in Riverside, CT. To enter, donate $10 per photo and then submit a fun/adorable/hilarious/wonderful photo of your furry friend. All proceeds raised will fund additional supplies and items, and Pet Pantry will generously match up to $1,000 and donate those funds to Adopt-A-Dog. Photos will be circulated on JLG, Pet Pantry, and Adopt-A-Dog social media accounts, and a winner will be announced at the end of May.

This initiative is being spearheaded by the JLG’s Done in a Day committee. “We are all dog owners and passionate about our furry friends. While many shelters and rescue groups are seeing an increase in adoption numbers , the need for support for the dogs left behind is constant. Adopt-A-Dog has identified for donors the much needed supplies for their dogs’ survival. Please give generously – we are grateful for your help!”
