Specific responsibilities of the committee include (1) researching potential projects, (2) selection of projects, (3) coordination of events with the community partner, (4) promoting the project both internally and externally, (5) recruiting and scheduling volunteers, (5) participation in the events and (6) follow up after the events.
The time commitment is about 10 hours per month. The committees provide flexibility for stay at home moms and full time working women. Activities can be held during the week or on the weekends.
Skills you will acquire include leadership experience, public relations experience, and knowledge of the community and its organizations. Done in a Day is for a member who (1) enjoys working closely with a group of volunteers, (2) has a genuine interest in interacting with other community groups and (3) takes pride in seeing a project through from start to finish while gaining hands-on experience.
