Senior Breakfast Brings Joy to Seniors at The Enchanted Forest

As is now a tradition with The Enchanted Forest, the Junior League of Greenwich once again reached out to its partners in the community and hosted seniors to a festive Senior Breakfast in the historic Tomes-Higgins house this year.  The breakfast was picture-perfect, with elegantly decorated tables, a performer singing and playing the baby grand piano, and a delicious meal for 64 of the town’s seniors.  Click to READ MORE!

JLG Hosts More Than 100 Trick or Treaters on Halloween Night

With the Junior League Headquarters located in the heart of a popular neighborhood for Trick-or-Treaters, the JLG invited local parents, kids, and pets to stop by for refreshments and candy. Many families used the house as a meeting point to begin their Trick-or-Treating down Park Place; a street known by locals for its many haunted houses on Halloween night. JLG Wreath Workshop at McArdle’s to Benefit The Enchanted Forest

Members of the Junior League of Greenwich (JLG) gathered this week at McArdle’s Florist and Garden Center for a wreath making workshop.  All wreaths created at this workshop will be for sale at this year’s The Enchanted Forest, to be held at Christ Church Greenwich on Thursday, November 16 to Saturday, November 18. Leading the workshop was George Von tobel of McArdle’s, a Greenwich resident of 55 years.  Mr. Von tobel began the workshop explaining to JLG members how much of an impact the Junior League has had on his life. COMMUNITY IMPACT: Baby Bundles 2017

Junior League Prepares Floral Arrangements for Breast Cancer Patients

The Junior League of Greenwich prepared nearly 50 floral arrangements for breast cancer patients at Greenwich Hospital at our October General Membership Meeting. Members gathered at McArdle’s Florist and Garden Center on October 12th to help make the day a little brighter for breast cancer patients at Greenwich Hospital.  A floral artist with McArdle’s provided the group of women with design tips to create the beautiful pink and white arrangements.  The arrangements were delivered on October 13th by Junior League of Greenwich members.

JLG Prepares Literacy Kits for Preschool Children

The Junior League of Greenwich is helping preschool children in Greenwich learn to read.  Throughout the month of September, the JLG has been collecting donations of books, magnetic letters/numbers, flashcards, white boards, dry erase markers, and other school supplies to promote literacy.  The Junior League worked with the Department of Human Services to identify preschool children in need and in total 85 kits will be distributed to Family Centers for Armstrong Court and the Archibald Center.
